CAUTION
An old, neglected, or failing roof does not have the resilience to withstand the rigors of weather. Gaco Mobile Roof Kit may not be suitable for such a roof. If you are in doubt about the condition of your roof, consult a qualified roof inspector.

STEP 1 - Wash

SURFACE PREPARATION
It is extremely important to get the roof clean and dry. First remove heavy deposits of dirt, leaves and other debris from the roof using broom or air broomer, then inspect the entire surface for any open seams, tears, cuts, etc. Repair these flaws so water is not blown in under membrane during the cleaning process. Pressure wash roof with water and allow to dry completely.

Biological Control: Areas of algae, mildew or fungus on the roof membrane or the existing coating
should be treated with a solution of 1 part household bleach and 3 parts water, followed by a power washer rinse using clear water.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
For general cleaning, combine 1 part GacoMobileRoof Wash with 9 parts water.
Maximum coverage when mixed at that ratio is 1,000 square feet per quart.

After the roof is completely dry from initial cleaning, apply Wash with a low pressure sprayer, using a 3-4 foot (0.91-1.22 m) arc pattern.
A Hudson-type agricultural sprayer, conventional pressure sprayer or airless sprayer is recommended.

Allow solution to stand for 10-15 minutes, adding a light mist of water to prevent drying.
While it stands, lightly agitate any heavily soiled areas with a broom or brush. Do not allow dirt to settle in low areas.

After application of cleaner, use a commercial power washer >3,000 psi (20.69 MPa) to remove debris and continue rinsing until all suds are gone. Start at the lowest point of the roof and work towards the highest point. It is important to keep the surface wet until Wash and other residue has been completely rinsed off and the surface is clean.

Drying: After cleaning and rinsing the roof, ensure no dirt or debris is present. Allow surfaces to thoroughly dry to prevent blistering. Examine roof, paying particular attention to areas of physical damage to determine that residual water has in fact dried before applying coating. Note: Drying time depends on weather conditions such as temperature, humidity and air movement.

STEP 2 - RepairTape

SURFACE PREPARATION
Once the roof is completely clean and dry, mask off the sidewalls and caps of the RV with a good quality painter’s tape and clear plastic sheeting to prevent any accidental contact with the coating and these surfaces. When prepping the surface for top coat application, remove any loose material or caulking with a putty knife.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Inspect the entire roof surface for any open seams or tears. Working in small sections, apply a 5-6" wide stripe of  GacoMobileRoof Top Coat by brush as received, over the seam or tear.

Cut the RepairTape to desired length, making all cuts with scissors. Then embed the RepairTape into the coating and immediately brush another layer of coating over the tape, smoothing out any wrinkles with a brush or cloth. Verify all the RepairTape is completely covered with GacoMobileRoof Top Coat.

If more than one piece of tape is going to be used, overlap any adjoining pieces by a minimum
of ½". Allow the surface to dry.

Inspect tape when coating is dry or nearly dry, to ensure it is bonded to the substrate and completely smooth. Press down any fish mouth cavities or wrinkles, cutting and re-bonding if necessary.

Once dry, inspect the RepairTape for fish mouth cavities, wrinkles, bare spots and other defects. Repair as needed prior to the application of top coat. To prevent dirt pickup, RepairTape must not be left exposed. Coat with GacoMobileRoof Top Coat as soon as it is applied.

STEP 3 - LiquidTape

SURFACE PREPARATION
If GacoMobileRoof LiquidTape is being applied to a weathered surface, it is extremely important to get the roof clean and dry. Apply GacoMobileRoof Wash according to label instructions.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mix before application to ensure uniform color and consistency. Product should not be thinned. Apply by brush or roller as GacoMobileRoof Kit Application Instructions Page 2 received.

For cold weather application, keep material stored above 65°F (18°C). Do not apply in temperatures below freezing, above 120°F (49°C) or if rain is expected within 2 hours.

Apply LiquidTape at a rate of 12 linear feet of seams per quart at 3" wide or approximately 10 sq. ft. per quart. Coat fasteners at least 2" in all directions; apply at a rate of approximately 90 fasteners per quart. LiquidTape should have a buildup of approximately 1/8" when complete.

Allow LiquidTape to dry a minimum of 3-12 hours before coating with GacoMobileRoof Top Coat. Application rate is job specific. Additional material may be required.

Allow the first coat to dry a minimum of 3-12 hours, or until it can be walked on, before coating with GacoMobileRoof Top Coat (product is moisturecure, low humidity will result in longer dry times); coat within 48 hours. Note: LiquidTape is not suitable as a standalone patch and needs to be coated within 48 hours of application.

CLEAN UP & MAINTENANCE
Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with GacoFlex Silicone Solvent or 100% Pure Mineral Spirits. DO NOT USE WATER OR RECLAIMED SOLVENTS.

Once a container of LiquidTape is opened, the curing process has started. Use the entire product on your project if possible. Allow any remaining product in the container to solidify and dispose of in the proper manner.

Roof structures may settle over time. A periodic inspection of your roof, which includes transition areas, roof vents, sanitary pipes or skylights, is recommended. Roofs become slippery when wet. Use extreme caution. Do not recoat LiquidTape with acrylic, urethane or Hypalon®  coatings.

CAUTION An old, neglected, or failing roof does not have the resilience to withstand the rigors of weather. LiquidTape may not be suitable for such a roof. If you are in doubt about the condition of your roof, consult a qualified roof inspector.

STEP 4 - Top Coat

SURFACE PREPARATION
If GacoMobileRoof Top Coat is being applied to a weathered surface, it is extremely important to get the roof clean and dry. Apply GacoMobileRoof Wash according to label instructions.

PRIMING
Top Coat will adhere to most surfaces without a primer; however, some substrates may require a primer for optimal adhesion. To verify proper adhesion, an adhesion test should be performed on a properly prepared and representative area of the substrate that is to be coated.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mix before application to ensure uniform color and consistency. Product should not be thinned.

Use the solvent-resistant ¾" nap roller cover as received. Dip roller directly into pail and apply, or pour product onto flat roof surface and roll out evenly.

The coverage rate of GacoMobileRoof Top Coat is 1.25 gallons per 100 sq. ft.; two coats are required for sufficient coverage on most substrates. Coverage rate may decrease on heavily textured or weathered roofs. Allow the first coat to dry for 3 to 12 hours. Apply second coat as soon as the first coat can be safely walked on. Do not apply in temperatures below freezing, above 120°F (49°C) or if rain is expected within 2 hours. Light foot traffic is allowed for equipment servicing only.

CLEAN UP & MAINTENANCE
Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with GacoFlex Silicone Solvent or 100% Pure Mineral Spirits. DO NOT USE WATER OR RECLAIMED SOLVENTS.

Once a container of Top Coat is opened, the curing process has started.

Do not recoat Top Coat with acrylic, urethane or Hypalon ® coatings.

CAUTION An old, neglected, or failing roof does not have the resilience to withstand the rigors of weather. Top Coat may not be suitable for such a roof. If you are in doubt about the condition of your roof, consult a qualified roof inspector. Note: GacoMobileRoof Top Coat is the final step in creating a monolithic roof coating and is not suitable as a standalone patch.
